The Dexter VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) participated in the annual Poppy Day. "Buddy" Poppies were handed out to area residents in exchange for a monetary donation. The proceeds are used by the VFW to assist military veterans with whatever their needs may be such as utility bills, gas and more. Terry D. Evans, age 65, of Cape Girardeau, MO passed away, on Monday, May 17, 2021 at Saint Francis Medical Center. He was born on August 25, 1955 in Covington, Georgia, son of Treniss and Doris (Ross) Evans. Terry was loved. He was known by many as an exceptional artist, as well as a detailed signs man.
